Tunnels
October 2021
The Tunnels series is happening right now and is still continuing.
This is a series that has come and gone, emerging in different techniques and formats - in text, in acrylic on canvas, in linoleum print.
Many of the topics I deal with appear as a series, emerging and coming in an attempt to exhaust my wonderings and it doesn't always end, I move on to another topic and come back.
We pass through tunnels back and forth and don't always relate to the passage, but rather hurry to reach the destination.
My children opened my eyes to observe the tunnels we pass through in Israel or abroad, the passage through the tunnel when they were little always included a shout "The tunnel of time, the Kinneret of time" Why Kinneret? Just rhyme them, the passages in the tunnels abroad were longer than those in Israel.
They roared and I took pictures, each tunnel led to a different destination, and each way there were new and different experiences.
The following three texts I wrote while working on the series are definitely part of it and part of the ongoing search.
1.
Even though there is a tornado in my head,
it turns out,
that things slowly seep into me
until
they reach
the
heart
and only then do they happen
more precisely

2.
There were times
when
I tried
to
separate
my art
from
my life
and life
from
art.
Today they work together.
So easy, so simple

And here they come…
Tunnels.
Every time we travel with our children through a tunnel in Israel/abroad
They shout: "The tunnel of time… the Kinneret of time…" (it's been like that since they were little)
They shout…
And I photograph the tunnels
Every destination I have a tunnel.
